Dear FSSC Sponsor:

 

Thank you so much for responding and sending in your registration forms and fees.  Here is some final information about the hotel and 2010 conference.  Enclosed is a map with directions to the hotel from all parts of the state.  When you arrive at the conference, you will find a map of the hotel in the registration packet, which will help you find competition rooms, point room, pools, restaurants, and everything else on the hotel grounds.  This is the third letter containing final instructions.  Please read it carefully as this is the last information you will be receiving before the conference.

 

 

Please remember to bring with you:

 

1-      An updated rooming list with emergency phone numbers for all participants.

2-      A list of students competing in Impromptu, Declamation, Play, Senior Scholarship, Entertainment, and Regional Dress competitions.

3-      Your Sponsor Locator Form (enclosed).  Please turn this in at the Sponsor's Meeting Thursday afternoon.

 

 

Conference Registration and Hotel Check-In:

 

1-      Upon arrival, go to the Convention Center on the east side of the hotel.  Park and unload there.  Magnolia Room will be available for students and suitcases.

 

2-      Conference Registration will be in JasmineOnly one sponsor will be admitted (no students).  Hotel check-in will be in Hibiscus.  Hotel rooms will be assigned, as they become available.  Both registrations will open at 12 noon and will close at 3:00 pm.  Please be prompt.

 

3-      The school Sponsor needs to bring the following to registration:

            a- Scrapbook entry (if any)

b- Poster entry (if any)

c- Last-minute changes or substitutions (if any)

 

4-      General Session for students and teachers will begin at 4:00 PM.  A mandatory sponsor meeting will immediately follow the general session.

 

Please remember that there is NO on-site registration for Regional Dress, Entertainment or Senior Scholarship Exam competitions.  There is a maximum of 3 entries per school for each of these categories. New entries MUST be postmarked or faxed by March 21, 2010.

 

In order to expedite any changes in the program, we will be accepting changes and substitutions at the FSSC, only from the existing alternate list, by phone/fax (352) 331-4931 no later than March 21, 2010 by 6:00 pm to appear in the program.  Please have your school name, number and the students' names for changes and substitutions ready to leave on the answering machine.  We ask that you also give us dramatic presentation titles listed as TBA on your original forms.  If your school unable to attend the conference please notify us in writing.   Written notification received by March 20th is entitled to a full refund of Individual Conference Fees.  Written notification received between March 21 - March 25 is subject to a 30% Cancellation Fee. Regretfully, NO refunds will be honored after the March 25th deadline.

 

To avoid waiting at the program changes table during conference registration, we will accommodate any last-minute substitutions by phone at a HOTLINE from the hotel.  This "FSSC Changes HOTLINE" will be available for 24 hours beginning at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 14 to 11:00 AM Thursday, April 15 (352) 359-3203.  Please have your school name, number and information ready.  These changes will be available for you in your registration packet. 

 

T-shirts can still be pre-ordered for conference pick-up.  Simply complete the enclosed form and mail it together with payment.  There will be a limited number of T-shirts on sale at the conference, so get them NOW while sizes are available.

 

Enclosed you will also find the Banquet Dinner Selection Form.  It is extremely important that you return this form to us no later than March 25th.  We must know exactly how many people will attend the banquet and their dinner preference.  You may return the form by mail, email (thefssc@gmail.com) or fax to the FSSC office at (352) 331-4931. We request that you remind your students that the banquet is a semi-formal event for which they should dress accordingly.  Young ladies should wear a nice dress or pantsuit and the young men should wear dress pants with shirt and tie.  Semi-formal attire is also welcome.

 

On hotel grounds, the restaurants are located near the main pool next to the tennis courts.  GATORVILLE: 11:00am-2:00am fresh seafood, salads, grilled specialties, sandwiches, pizza, all available for lunch and dinner.  SCREAM'S: 10:00am-10:00pm Ice cream parlor.  In the Convention Center, you will find The Market Deli:  7:00am-9:00pm for sandwiches, fresh fruit, drinks, yogurt, snacks, etc. and AugUstine's:  6:30am-10:00pm for breakfast buffet and fine dining.

 

This is the last letter you will be receiving from us prior to the 2010 conference in Orlando.  Eastside High School has worked diligently to make this conference a success.  We hope to have answered all of your questions and concerns and look forward to being your host in Orlando.

   Reminder:

 

1- The 3 highest scoring entertainment numbers of each category, dance, vocal and instrumental will perform at the banquet.  Try-out results will be posted outside Orange by 4:00 PM Friday.

 

2- Maximum of 3 entries per school may participate in the regional dress competition.  Students should be prepared to announce their name, school number and the country they represent.  No on-site registration permitted.

 

3- In order to pick up your trophies and ribbons your school must be present at the awards ceremony.  Trophies and ribbons will not be distributed early.  No exceptions will be made.

 

4-      All sponsors must be present at the two sponsor meetings: Thursday 5:00 - 5:30pm and Saturday 8:30- 9:00am.

 

5- Remember that Point Room fees must be paid by ALL teachers sending students to compete.  Teachers who are members of the national AATSP pay a $10.00 fee to FAATSP with proof of national membership.  Teachers who are not members of the national pay a $20.00 fee to FAATSP.  Please use enclosed membership form for information.
